Our mission is to be a very simple and low key dealership focused on the client. Our goal is to make your experience simple and awesome! This dealership was opened by a father and son duo in 2007. More details at the bottom of this page.

About us:
We are authentically family-owned. My father immigrated in 1989 from the former Soviet Union, a city in Ukraine named Odesa. Having zero English, only a couple of bags of belongings, and a few dollars he started his journey in America. The American “dream” was not in fact easy. It proved to be quite difficult for the first 15 years. Work days consisted of 15-17 hours and two jobs at a time was the norm. One day, my father decided to make a change and deviate from the car repair business (and the other side jobs he was doing) and try the construction industry. Having bought some land in 2004 he started building houses right around the peak of the 2005-2006 construction boom. In 2006 the Great Recession began which triggered a housing market stall and this put an immense amount of pressure on my father. The financing situation became even more dire. My father would not accept bankrutpcy as an easy way out and put in all of his effort to get out of the crazy new situation that life put him in. In 2006, I (Eli Kani, his son), graduated from High School with an intent to pursue a career as an optometrist. However, when I saw my father's situation I decided to put my goals to the side and help my dad, knowing the English language quite a bit better. I told my dad "I don't know anything about the car industry but whatever you tell me to do, I'll listen and we can get through this together". That year, my father, younger brother Dan and I opened up NW Group in a small 709 square foot shop off Marx Street in Portland, Oregon.
At the very beginning of our dealership my father told my brother and I, “A good name is worth more than gold". This is NW Group and who we are. Same name, same ownership, now with much more experience. We have been able to sell over 8,000 rebuilt cars successfully.
